If you’ve been in business for any length of time, you’ve probably heard of these 3 key elements of success. I want to briefly talk about the first two, then focus on the third element, which is action. Maybe you’ve worked on yourself regarding the first two, but if you’re not taking action, you won’t get very far. If you’re not moving forward in your business, then one or more of these elements need to be addressed.
It all starts with a decision. Make a decision now that you won’t accept mediocrity, debt, lack or whatever else you want less of in your life. Og Mandino, in his masterpiece, “The Greatest Salesman in the World” said in Scroll I to “decide today to begin a new life.” This can be done in a moment. It really IS up to you. Let the old negative way of thinking and failures of the past, stay in the past. Do not underestimate the power in making a firm decision and declaring that things WILL be different in your life. With all the talk about setting goals or mapping out where you want to be in six months, one year or five years, what about those of you who may find yourself just plain stuck. You are unable to move forward, for whatever reason, and make daily progress towards your goals. You’ve been on most of your company’s calls, taken some copious notes, written down your daily and weekly plan of action, and even shown up from time to time at your company’s trainings. But you’ve made little to no progress in your network marketing business in spite of the best of intentions and an honest desire to be successful. Other people in your same business have enrolled many people, hit some great achievement levels and earned some fantastic income, but not you. Not you because you’re stuck.

There are two elements that you need to have in order to achieve big success. Too often, even well-intentioned and talented people leave success to chance. They may know what they want, but it isn’t truly clearly defined on paper. Much of what they want and the plan of action to acquire it, is still in their head. You may have written down your goals numerous times in different forms, but do you have a well-defined and written “definite major purpose” (DMP) as mentioned in the previous post? Let’s begin with that.
First of all, determine what you really want or need. Not what someone else wants for you, what you truly want. That item or items is your DMP. Next, you must decide what you will give in return to acquire this, as there is no such thing as “something for nothing.” Is TV taking too much of your time? Are you spending time with negative people that would hinder you from attaining your DMP? The last step in defining your DMP is to write out the date that you intend to achieve it, emotionalize it, state it in the present tense (as if its already happened) and be specific.
