I finally managed to determine my two PPN’s (Personal Pivotal Needs) that we were asked to put into place as we were writing our Definite Major Purpose. Your Personal Pivotal Needs are very important because they are the basic underpinnings of your written Definite Major Purpose as outlined by Napoleon Hill in his book, “Think and Grow Rich.”
I ended up changing my PPN’s several times because the ones I chose just didn’t feel right. I kept looking at the list of PPN’s over and over. I desired all of them in my life. To have to settle on two primary PPN’s was a difficult thing. It took much soul searching to finally decide on the PPN of Liberty. It felt completely right, the only problem was, it was just one of the two I needed. Back to more soul searching…. then it hit me. TRUE WEALTH… just really resonated with me. It wasn’t even on the list, but I knew it was what I truly wanted.
True Wealth to me is prospering in all areas of life – spiritually, financially, physically, socially, and in one’s soul (the mind, the will and the emotions). Of course I wanted to massively succeed in the area of finances, but I wanted so much more than to just accumulate money. We’ve all heard stories of people that were quite wealthy but ended up impoverished in other areas of their lives.
One of my favorite scriptures happens to speak about True Wealth….3 John 2. It’s a very short scripture, but all encompassing . It speaks of prospering and being in health, even as your soul prospers. Apparently, it’s not just the accumulation of money that makes a person prosperous.
What do you desire in your life? What do you really desire? In your heart of hearts, what would get you up in the morning and cause you to really look forward to your day? What is your true passion and Definite Major Purpose? If you haven’t discovered it yet, may I encourage you to set aside some time where you can be alone and just search your heart. We only have one life. If you want to do something meaningful in your life for yourself and others, begin this journey now by looking within.
God has placed in each of us unique talents to reach for the dreams He’s placed in all of us. If we’ve allowed those talents and dreams to be buried underneath a pile of procrastination, excuses, self-doubt, fear or just plain apathy, begin today to take the small, but necessary steps to make the dreams you have inside of you become a reality. Start with determining your own PPN’s. Then work on your DMP and OATS (see previous posts for help). I hope the information on this blog helps you on your journey. You will succeed if you don’t quit and are willing to put forth some time and effort and grow as you go. Just begin today and take some action, however small it may be, in the right direction and you will discover your own pathway to success.
To your success,
